Xolile Keteyi SJ author

This 1991 but still relevant study by Xolile Keteyi examines the nature and theology of apartheid, the uses and misuses of culture in South Africa and the mission of the Church. Its contribution to discussion and its still unanswered challenge to action is its linkage of liberation with inculturation.

Xolile Keteyi SJ had been a peritus, an advisor, to the South African Bishops at the African Synod in Rome in 1994, and was Consultor of the South African Region of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) and the Rector of Saint Peter's Seminary in Pretoria, when he died in May 1994.

An epilogue by Tinyiko Sam Maluleke places the study in the on-going South African discussions of liberation and incultur
